Northwest Corner now Complete

A few days in the very warm sun, and the northwest corner of the house now has the siding finished and window trim all done. Scaffolding has now been moved over to the cooler east side.

Picking Away at Shingles

As time permits the pre-finished shingles are being applied to the garage in a pattern which matches the master bedroom balcony. On Friday we picked-up the remainder of our 120 2" x 6s" which will be used for scaffolding to continue house siding, starting tomorrow. In the meantime, though, the garage siding progresses one shingle at a time !

Marble Day

Following a call from Matrix Marble on Friday to tell us that our order was ready for pick-up, today was the day we arranged to move our tumbled Vancouver Island marble tiles to be used on the main floor of the house.

480 8" x 8s", 720 4" x 8s" and 960 4" x 4s". Loaded by forklift -- unloaded by hand!

Siding Progresses II

Finally, the siding is progressing on the house above the veranda. We decided to buy a lot of 2" x 6" lumber that we can use for scaffolding now, and decking later. It is working beautifully being both quick to set-up and solid to work from. The shingles are being pre-finished and nailed on the garage as time allows...

Interior Painting & Steps

Since our last post we've been occupying ourselves on lots of little jobs including interior painting, making wall sconces, and interior steps getting ready for the flooring when it arrives
